WHAT TO EXPECT?
If you are looking for real and authentic Lapland experience, this tour is for you! We have carefully chosen one of the most traditional reindeer farms for this 3 hour long private tour with your group exclusively. You will meet the reindeer herder family who has been practising reindeer herding at least 5 generations on this traditional farm. During your visit you will explore everyday life in the farm, get to feed the reindeer and take 2 km ride on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. You will also hear some great stories and facts about reindeer herding in Lapland and how it is an integral part of the nature and culture in Northern Finland.
This tour is fully private and there will be no other guests in the farm during your visit. You will depart from Rovaniemi with our private minibus and take a short 35 minute drive to reindeer farm. On the farm you will hear some stories of reindeer herding from local family and get to feed and meet the reindeer inside their pens. The tour is topped of with a hot cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate and freshly made crepes in traditional Lappish Kota.
As this is a private tour, we are in no hurry and have plenty of time to capture the best pictures of your meeting with the reindeer and riding with the sleigh. This is the only reindeer farm visit in Rovaniemi from which you will receive professional, edited pictures as a memory to highlight your amazing journey here in Lapland. A true and authentic Lapland experience designed only for your family or group!
WHY CHOOSE THIS TOUR
Travel by private minibus for about 35 minutes from Rovaniemi to the farm. Meet a family that has practised reindeer herding for at least five generations, learn about everyday farm life and the role of reindeer herding in Northern Finland, feed the reindeer and take a 2 km sleigh ride through the snowy forest.
The visit also includes hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate and freshly made crepes in a traditional Lappish kota. No other guests are present at the farm during your private visit, leaving time for the photographer-guide to capture the experience.
